Hard to believe another year has blown by, but here we are less than a week away from the 2002 gathering. My last message was an alert of sorts that the venerable old Barn had closed its doors and that I was in search of a new place to hold our annual festivities. After much searching, I was able to strike a similar deal with the Yard House in the Irvine Spectrum. In many ways, the Yard House is actually superior to the Barn: virtually unlimited parking, everything is on one floor so there's no stairs to negotiate, it has a most impressive spirits list and beer taps that go for miles, they have an excellent menu, there's an attached outdoor area for the smokers (and a cigar shop a few doors down), and if you get tired of the Yard House, the Crazy Horse, Dave & Busters and a dozen other fine establishments are all within a one or two minute walk. About the only real drawback I can think of is that it's not quite as roomy as the Barn. Coming from out-of-town or worried about the drive home? We got a suggestion for those coming from out of town or those not
wanting to drive home. Homestead Studio Suites Hotel is 1/2 mile from the
Yard House in Irvine. Room r Homestead Studio Suites Hotel Tel: 949-727-4228 Cheapest to register online: http://www.homesteadhotels.com So with that, I hope I've sold you on the virtues of the Yard House and that you'll turn out in record numbers for this year's event. Mark your calendars, PDAs, etc: What: Annual Microdata, McDonnell Douglas, Novadyne Reunion When: Thursday, December 5, 2002 5:00 PM til ???? And, speaking of databases, I would like to thank John Seaman and Northgate for providing me with a copy of REALTY 9.1. After 7 good years, Advanced PICK just wouldn't make the migration to Windows NT. Regards, Steve Gill
