This was taken in '76 or '77 at the small industrial office that was rented for the development of the Reflex disk drive product. It was about a mile or two south on Redhill from the Microdata main plant and generally referrd to as the "skunk works". Most of these guys had been hired away from Century Data (Calcomp) for this project. The photo was taken at a party celebrating some milestone... I think perhaps the first working prototype. Seated at the lower left: Vice President Bud Bleininger Seated behind the desk: Bill Helpard, with Helen Samarin on his lap. Standing, from left to right: Jerry Dischino, Mike Clark, Jim Duke, Bob Gertz, Frank Grosch, Bill Zeissner, Steve Klinger, and Chet Kulma. (Photo courtesy John Van Valkenburgh - Microdata '76-'81).

The photo was taken at 3001 Red Hill (The Skunk Works) sometime in late 1976 or early 1977. The first real working
Reflex I prototype. In the previous picture, the unit did not have all of its electronics designed and installed. We were
still trying to improve the read/write circuits and perhaps some others.
